The plan

1. Chester County History Center

   Start downtown at 225 N High St. Open Wednesday to Saturday, 10 to 4.

2. Lunch at Pietro's Prime

   Classic steakhouse lunch in a beautifully restored historic building.

3. Hagley Museum

   The original du Pont gunpowder works, workers' village and family estate at 200 Hagley Creek Rd, Wilmington. Closed Wednesdays.

4. Winterthur Estate

   The premier American decorative arts collection and 1,000 acres of garden, 5105 Kennett Pike, Winterthur. Closed Mondays.
